Short bio

Dr. Vasileios Kapsalis holds a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), with a specialization in Production Engineering. He also holds a Master of Science from NTUA and a PhD from the University of Patras.

He is a member of the Special Teaching Staff (EDIP), Grade A, in the Sector of Industrial Management & Operational Research at the School of Mechanical Engineering, NTUA. His academic field focuses on the techno-economic optimization of energy and environmental systems, and he participates in teaching related courses, supervising diploma theses, and engaging in research projects. His research activity also includes authoring peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters, which have received numerous citations.

He is part of the editorial team for special issues of scientific journals, and actively contributes to Greek, European, and international organizations, scientific committees, and conferences. He also serves as a reviewer for international journals.

Dr. Kapsalis is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece and the Panhellenic Association of Chartered Mechanical and Electrical Engineers, with over 25 years of professional and administrative experience in technical, operational, and business analysis, the design and control of complex systems, infrastructure projects, large-scale networks, and in specialized expert assessments.
